Mission, Vision and Purpose

Our Mission

Our mission is to fully realize the mining potential in Manitoba for the betterment of people, communities, our provincial economy and our members.

Our Vision

Our vision is to advocate for, collaborate with and educate our stakeholders to create a successful and sustainable mining industry that is also environmentally and socially responsible.

How We Achieve Our Goals

We advocate for members’ interests at all levels of government, support public policy, legislation and regulations that contribute to the growth of mining in Manitoba, and work to ensure that all concerns and priorities are heard and understood by decision-makers and public opinion leaders.

We educate Manitobans about our mining industry’s safe and ethical practices, alongside our contributions to the social and economic well-being of our province, municipalities and surrounding communities.

We seek to engender pride in our legacy, optimism for our future, and to drive positive impacts that contribute to the continued growth and success of the mining industry, ultimately to the benefit of all Manitobans.

We collaborate with like-minded private, public and non-profit organizations to advance common goals, build positive relationships with Indigenous communities, and promote wise practices in business development within those communities in physical proximity to mining projects.

We share information about our activities, and events, while promoting a better understanding around mine safety, mine rescue, exploration and development, the environment, and Indigenous relations in Manitoba.

The Mining Association of Manitoba Inc., is headquartered on Treaty 1 and we acknowledge that our members operate on Treaty territories within the Province of Manitoba and the unceded lands of the Dakota, the traditional territories of Anishinaabe, Cree, OjiCree and Dene peoples and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
